You can confirm this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools on any page of this site and inspect the Application or Storage tab. It will be empty — including after the third-party scripts described below have run.

Why there is no banner

Consent banners exist because sites place non-essential cookies before you have agreed to them. This site places none, essential or otherwise, so there is no consent to collect and no preference to store.

A banner that stored your dismissal of the banner would itself be the only cookie on the site. We would rather not have one.

External requests

What leaves your browser, and why none of it is a cookie.

Each page loads two typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Google states that Google Fonts sets no cookies, but serving the files does disclose your IP address and user-agent to Google, as any request to any server does. We receive nothing from it.

The network in front of this site, Cloudflare, adds two scripts of its own to every page: its Web Analytics beacon and an email-address obfuscator. Neither writes a cookie, and neither stores anything in your browser — which is why this page can still say what it says above. Both are set out in detail in our privacy notice, including what the analytics reports back to us.

Our own markup adds nothing further: the stylesheet and script are inline, every graphic is inline SVG, and there are no embedded maps, videos, chat widgets, social buttons or tag managers.

If we introduce anything that sets a cookie or stores data in your browser, this page will be updated to name it, say what it does and say how long it lasts, before that change goes live — and a consent mechanism will be added where one is required.
